Santa Ana Shooting Today: Two Killed, One Injured in Borchard Avenue Gang-Related Attack

Two men were killed and one injured in a shooting near Borchard Avenue and Shelton Street in Santa Ana. Police say the incident appears gang-related.


The Santa Ana Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that left two men dead and another injured in what authorities believe may be a gang-related attack in Santa Ana, California.

The incident occurred on the evening of April 19, 2026, near Borchard Avenue and Shelton Street. At approximately 8:55 p.m., police communications received multiple reports of gunfire in the area. Officers, along with the Orange County Fire Authority, responded quickly to the scene.

When emergency responders arrived, they located three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities confirmed that two of the victims died as a result of their injuries, while a third victim survived.

The deceased victims were identified as 49-year-old Eusebio Villareal of Santa Ana and 46-year-old Marlon Jaime Castillo of Fullerton. Both suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Villareal was pronounced dead at the scene, while Castillo was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

The third victim, a 43-year-old man from Los Angeles, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to survive.

Preliminary findings suggest the shooting may be gang-related, although investigators have not yet confirmed a motive. No suspects have been identified or arrested at this time.

Santa Ana homicide detectives are actively working the case, focusing on gathering witness statements, reviewing surveillance footage, and reconstructing the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.
